The Month by iPhone :: June 2014

June. a marathon month with a couple {yes, two} days off. I got to see quite a few of my favorite people, and I got to visit a few of my favorite Door County spots. here are some pictures from this month! I can't believe the year is half over!

aren't these adorable? they're some sort of metal, and they're from the 1950's. I fell in love with them at the thrift store {Roadside Market in Sturgeon Bay}, but I don't have any use for them, so I didn't buy them.

event week calls for some pretties in the kitchen. printable from here.

apparently the golden raspberries were amazing and something that no one had ever seen before. I think I'll have to get some for myself when they go on sale next.

Vee put his Cinderella bandaid on his guitar head! (:

someone brought us pretty purple flowers.

Space Queen writes a set list.

Liv Mueller & Eric McFadden with Victoria Vox. oh what a night. the look on his face makes me laugh.

Schopf's Hill Top Dairy in Carlsville - one of my favorite places to take the kids for summer camp. I just love their ice cream cone slide! (: they have a petting zoo as well, and a program where you can learn about cows and milking. oh and they have awesome ice cream and fudge, along with sandwiches and such in their restaurant/gift shop.

piglets at The Farm! such a classic place to take kids. there are so many different animals to feed and play with. I've come here at least once a summer for as long as I can remember.

they even have peafowl! (:

another animal picture. this squirrel was just hanging out on my balcony for a few minutes, until my neighbor went outside and startled him.

pretty flowers!

Luna's new friend, Zen Bus.

I got to see the last moment of the sunset.

fresh local strawberries!!!!

my new friends (:

part of a fun day with our campers. we did a sidewalk obstacle course. the idea is from Matty Angel, and his is way cooler!

flowers from two of the musicians who spent a week with us (:

then someone else stopped by with a flower! he told me to take it home, but I thought it looked great in the diner.

another flower picture... {all three are from the motel} I like that the flower is poking out through the fence outside (:

cloud love.

God Bless America

a few days before July 4th, I still didn't know what I was going to do for the holiday, since I had the day off. we usually go up north for the parades, and sometimes we have been in them. I ended up going up to Egg Harbor with my mom for lunch at Casey's BBQ, and then we watched the parade in Egg Harbor. after the parade, we drove up to Ephraim for ice cream at Wilson's!

I found some old pictures, so this is going to turn into a long post! (:

lunch at Casey's {the last two years, we've been the only people eating inside when we were there}

yum yum yum!

we each got a pulled pork sandwich, and we split the fries

me & my mom (:

Stanley Cup! {not sure if it was the actual one, or a replica though}

part of the UW marching band, and the reason I have no other pictures from the parade

WILSON'S!!!!!

regular flavors {oh how I wish this wasn't out of focus}

seasonal flavors. I changed my mind at least three times. haha.

love their shirts! also, all of the college kids who work here are amazing. totally on top of all of the craziness. they rock!

always a jelly bean on top! (:

Firecracker: strawberry ice cream with pop rocks

throwback starting now! (:

{2008} before the Baileys Harbor parade

I think this was the last year that we were in the parade, but I honestly can't remember. we probably did both parades, actually. my dad and I were on the Harley, while my mom followed on her moped. if we did another year or two of parades after this, it wasn't on the Harley. it was a pretty warm day {I mean, it was July}, and the parade was so slow, so the motorcycle kept overheating. if I remember correctly, we spent quite a lot of time just coasting. it was really annoying.

{also 2008}

later that evening, my parents and I met up with my grandpa & grandma, uncle, aunt, and two of our dear friends, and we rented a pontoon boat. we went for a ride and watched the fireworks on the water. right after we rented the boat, we ran into this bridge and broke something on the boat...oops.

{2009}

in 2009, we spent the night before the Fourth on Washington Island. my dad played {as in music - guitar to be precise} with some of his friends at Nelsen's Hall Bitter's Pub on the evening of the third. there is a bike parade that anyone and everyone is welcome to be a part of on Washington Island on Independence Day. we watched that and then crossed back over on the ferry {pictured above} to the "main island" to see the parade down in Egg Harbor.

{2012} parade view in Egg Harbor

ugh. we had the worst parade view last year. and it got only got worse towards the end of the parade when they had more family members join them.

{2012} Delaney helping my grandpa put the fish on.

later that evening, we had a fish boil out at my grandparents' house. my grandparents hosted my parents and me, uncle, aunt, baby cousin, and our friends Delaney & Liv.

{2012} if only I had waited another half second before pressing the shutter...

Liv got to throw the oil on for the boil over!

{2012} now this is my favorite kind of concert (:

after we all ate, Liv and Delaney "sang for their supper." they even did "Hotel California," per my grandpa's request. my baby cousin was so enthralled by Delaney; it was adorable.

{2012} once it got dark, I finally shot off the firework that I received for my 17th birthday {nearly two years later...}

pat mAcdonald & melaniejane gave me a "Bat Out of Hell" firework for my birthday in 2010, and I finally got around to using it nearly two years later.

{2012} Delaney and Liv both each did a set at Beach that night

Delaney and Liv were both playing at Beach that night, so while my mom went to the fireworks in town {which got rained out}, my dad and I went down to see them. it was the first time {aside from earlier at my grandparents' house} that I had seen Liv perform, and she was incredible! I have seen Delaney many, many times, but it was the first time that I had seen him perform in a venue with dancing space. well, for his last song, he did a waltz. if you have never seen him perform, one thing that you should know is that he is an incredible looper. Delaney set up his looping, and then he went around and started pairing people up for the waltz. it was a mini family reunion of my musician friends at the show that night, so Miss Meaghan got paired with our friend Jamey, Anna was paired with some guy I don't know, and my dad was paired with Ruby. after pairing off a few couples, Delaney came and got me. I had no idea what I was doing, but his advice was "one foot, and then the other." he was going to pair me with some random dude, but the guy didn't want to dance, so Delaney found pat for me and we waltzed. I love my crazily wonderful life.

Day in the Life: Monday 13 May 2013

I was originally going to document yesterday for this day in the life post, but I found out on Sunday that I would be training someone at work on Tuesday, and I thought that that would be pretty weird if I was taking pictures while training someone. I ended up documenting Monday, which wasn't really a typical day.

I woke up at 6:30 because I had a dentist appointment at 8. I took a shower, got dressed, and put on mascara, then went downstairs for breakfast {Cinnamon Life} and blog reading at 7:10.

I left for the dentist at quarter to eight, and then I sat in the lobby there for like ten minutes. My appointment went well, although I don't understand why dental hygienists try to have a conversation with you, when their hands are in your mouth.

I drove downtown to go to the bank after my appointment, and one of the bridges must have been up, because traffic was stopped more than halfway down the street I was on {three blocks from the nearest bridge} when I parked.

I went home and did some more reading and took some pictures.

partial outfit of the day: Target flats, American Eagle skinny jeans, Target v-neck pocket tee

I spend a majority of my days listening to music. I love this song {Haunted Face} by the talented Liv Mueller!

I had lunch {whole wheat spaghetti, red sauce, mozzarella cheese, butter, and a glass of milk} before I headed up north to get an estimate on some rust removal for my car.

Of course I washed the dishes before I left though, with some new dishsoap that I received from Influenster to try and review {coming after I use it some more!}

It was really windy out, and only fifty degrees, so I regretted not having a jacket when I took some pictures at Baileys Harbor Marina.

I headed farther up north, where I went to a few resale stores. I bought two ramekins, and an Avon aftershave bottle that is shaped like a Volkswagen Beetle! The back part of the car, which goes over the cap, is missing, but it's pretty cool! It's from the late 1960's or early 1970's. The bottle feels and sounds like it's full, but the cap is stuck shut.

I headed back south, and stopped along the water in Ephraim for a few pictures on the west side of the county. There were some fishermen, and a sailboat or two. I even saw a few groups of guys at one of the golf courses!

Here's a picture of my new face accessory! {I'm still on auto, but I can't wait to learn how to really use this camera!}

I also stopped at a few stores, but I can't show you what I got, since I was shopping for my Cara Box partner, McCall!

I taught my tumbling class at the Y. Maybe it's because two of my favorite littles are in the class, but I'm really, really loving this session!

After class, I came home and had chicken and an apple for dinner, and a microwave mug sugar cookie for dessert. I also washed the dishes, all while listening to my favorite show on the radio {aka the only time I listen to the radio}.

Then I relaxed and edited some pictures, and got lost on the internet, and wrote this post! haha.

xoxo.
