The Month by iPhone :: August 2014

Oh, August. You came and went so fast this year. It seems like the summer just began, but now it's already over. August means my birthday and the end of camp. My schedule is going to seem more regular for me now, but it's still going to be pretty busy. My classes start this week at the Y and I'm pretty excited to see who I'm going to have this session! Here's to hoping that it all goes well.

I actually didn't change my calendar until the second. Oops!

hoses hanging to dry at the fire station. I loved documenting camp field trips this year.

princess birthday balloons!

at the USCG canal station. the lighthouse looks so tiny!

what I wore on my birthday {Forever 21 tee // Gap colorblock belt // American Eagle skinny jeans // Converse}

princess roses because everyone knows that I am a princess.

don't give me flowers, because I will just take pictures of them all of the time.

we took the kids bowling at Apple Valley Lanes. it was so weird being the only people there.

Groundskeeper Frappe from Copper Rock Coffee in Appleton. it tasted just like an Oreo!

more mini golfing at Egg Harbor Fun Park.

obligatory first legal drink photo (;

I was refilling the mints in the lobby at the motel, and I noticed that some of them are smaller and not circular, so I had to be annoying and take a picture.

that's a child doing a cartwheel. I wish I would have caught her with both hands on the ground and legs in the air, because that would have been a cool picture.

we took the kids to Cherry Blossom Park, and I just thought that the trees looked pretty.

one of my favorite views.

hey, steel bridge...

final day with our campers. we took them to Otumba Park.

cute little bottle opener (:

new leaves

feeling small

I watched Frozen and painted my nails (:

I've already started spotting fall leaves, which is so weird since it's still August. But it's been a cooler summer this year.

a night at the CopperLeaf

Some very dear people gave me the best Christmas present ever this year: a one-night stay at the CopperLeaf Hotel in Appleton. It was a perfect little getaway because it was close, but not too close. They also told me to go shopping, and I bought myself some nice new things.

view from the door to the room

the living room area that you first walk into. the larger two-door compartment holds the tv, and to the left of that is a small closet space.

wet bar.

I haven't stayed in many hotels in the past few years, and I found it interesting that not only was there a magnifying makeup mirror (with different lighting settings) in the bathroom, but there were also cotton balls and q-tips, and a toothbrush holder. (And also Aveda products.)

the bedroom had a small (fake) fireplace under the tv, a jacuzzi, and a king-size bed.

the alarm clock radio even had a white noise machine with multiple settings. that was very helpful when I heard someone running in the hallway around eleven.

I spent some time in the jacuzzi reading Space Kitty Blues after eating my red velvet cupcake from Panera.

breakfast was served at the hotel from six until nine, and I missed that because I ended up sleeping in. I walked a block down to Copper Rock Coffee, where I had a cinnamon roll and a s'mores mocha while reading some more.

I just really love exposed brick.

because I went between Christmas and New Year's, there were still some adorable Christmas decorations up.

I also love historical buildings, especially with a little dusting of snow. it was a few degrees above zero, so I didn't venture out and take too many pictures, but I'm looking at going back in the spring when it's a little warmer. I found a cute little church and some schools while I was driving around downtown in the morning.

a few more historic storefronts.

I stayed in 503, which is the second room from the left on the top floor.

they had some really cute Christmas decorations out too!

wreath by the front door.

In the interest of full disclosure, there was a small issue with the room, but I called down to the front desk, and she sent someone up right away who took care of it!

The Month by iPhone: December 2013

It seems so strange to me that it is already 2014! Here are some photos from my phone this month!

Ironing pillow covers at work because I am such a domestic goddess.

I really love Prinstagram {Social Print Studio}.

Anna's Ginger Thins on a vintage plate on a vintage counter. this is what Christmas smells like.

I shoveled that sidewalk twice in one evening!

my mom went to a cookie exchange with some girls she used to work with. one of them made these cute sugar cookies! the white frosting was some sort of cream cheese frosting.

and one of her other friends made these adorable snowmen!

 college graduation!

Kim Manning Christmas ornament!

cute little snail that someone left behind at the motel

I love that Sally put a cupcake sticker on the envelope!

I met up with Erin and Heather for lunch at a local bar. it was so great to see them. too bad Kyle couldn't join us...

I rarely wear silver jewelry, but my grandma gave me this beautiful peridot necklace for my graduation.

another cookie exchange cookie! this gingerbread glove came with some gingerbread trees.

dinner at Panera!

I was given the opportunity to get away for an evening, thanks to some wonderful people. more on that soon!

cinnamon roll and s'mores mocha for breakfast at Copper Rock Coffee Company.

last picture of 2013. I ended the year by myself at work.
