around the web 29.5.2015

it's been another crazy busy week, but this one started with a nice day off. between both of my jobs, I work every day, even if it's just teaching one class, so it is so weird to me to have a day with nothing scheduled! a day off usually means that I go and take pictures somewhere. (:

I took this quiz on BuzzFeed and got the back of the neck because "they look super cool and you can hide back-of-the-neck tats under longer hair. Also, your soul is a bottle of bourbon, which means only the boldest tattoo will do."

it's a long time from Christmas, but I want to remember this clip from SNL31.

a faster way to tie your shoes, which I kind of want to try!

my favorite Really!?! on Weekend Update without Amy Poehler is with Kermit (: {clip here}

ModCloth picks of the week (:

this owl planter is adorable! ahhh this skirt! this is the greatest sleeping bag ever! these coasters are gorgeous. if I needed clothespins, these would be the ones I would use. this tank top isn't really a style that I would wear, but I love it, especially since the lace also has skulls in it!

21/52 2015

...and the craziness starts now! these next three weeks or so are just going to be super crazy, and then the summer is going to fly by! I don't want it to, but that's what's going to happen as it always does. I will try my best to slow down and enjoy as many moments as I can.

Thursday 21 May // day one hundred fifty-one :: new phone case. Frenchie love! (:

Friday 22 May // day one hundred fifty-two :: Luna at a blooming cherry orchard. {orchard photos here}

Saturday 23 May // day one hundred fifty-three :: one of my sweet friends was up for the weekend, and his mom just passed away, so he brought some things with him for his friends up here. I never got to meet her, as far as I can remember, but this little coin purse was hers. isn't it darling?

Sunday 24 May // day one hundred fifty-four :: it's really hard to take a picture of your shoes showing your socks.

Monday 25 May // day one hundred fifty-five :: I drove all the way up to the tip of the peninsula, and I only stopped in Ellison Bay to take some pictures at "Gus" Klenke Garage, which is an abandoned car garage. {more pictures here}

Tuesday 26 May // day one hundred fifty-six :: dentist appointment this morning!

Wednesday 27 May // day one hundred fifty-seven :: I can often be found sitting on the floor.

"Gus" Klenke Garage

I made the trip up north on Memorial Day, just as I did last year. I always have to laugh at all of the traffic heading south to go home because there are always so many cars! I finally made it a point to stop at "Gus" Klenke Garage, which I always mean to stop at but always end up passing. (Since the bank across the street was closed, it was the perfect place to stop.)

I loved peeking in the window and seeing that there is still so much stuff in there! I really wanted to go inside, but I know better than to trespass/break and enter.

I'll just let the photos do the rest of the talking here... I hope this building stays here like this forever.

blossoms and bees

I went out last Friday to check on the cherry blossoms again. I went to a different orchard this time, which is actually the orchard (Choice Orchards) where these pictures from two years ago were taken. I've been calling them cherry blossoms this year, but I still have no idea if they are cherry trees or apple trees.

The trees were literally buzzing with bees when I took these pictures, so it kind of turned into a game for me to get pictures of the bees. (:

And of course, a picture of Luna.

just another busy week right before summer here! I went to Appleton on Wednesday though, and there were some really good sales, so I ended up with a few new shirts and a super cute new dress that I can't wait to wear!

I never really watched 30 Rock, but...

how did I not know until this week that Pawnee: The Greatest Town in America by Leslie Knope is an actual book?! I will for sure be getting a copy for myself and one as a gift for someone!

more Parks & Rec love as always - I love these reimagined children's books.

we're making these celery-printed fish with the kids this summer, and I can't wait to see how they turn out!

these DIY Funfetti candles are adorable, and I bet they smell just as good!

Disney Princess tattoos! the second one is my favorite! (:

I love Will Forte, and I was happy to catch a glimpse of him on Late Night with Seth Meyers this week. {clip here}

this week, I bought some new earbuds, and I am really liking them!

ModCloth picks of the week!

such a pretty shower curtain {this one too, but this one matches my bathroom better}! I am in love with this beautiful dress! ice cream cone lip glosses with pens! a pretty summer dress.

20/52 2015

Another busy week over here! The summer is approaching so fast, and I can't believe it's already Memorial weekend! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and enjoy Monday off if you have it. Thanks to all of those who serve our wonderful country, and to those who are working on the holiday, I totally understand and hope you get a day off soon! Memorial Day and Labor Day are two of the days a year that it seems I am guaranteed off because there aren't classes at the Y those days. I'll hopefully be headed up north while all the tourists are heading south.

Thursday 14 May // day one hundred forty-four :: things I should have been reading instead of watching Late Night with Seth Meyers and Saturday Night Live.

Friday 15 May // day one hundred forty-five :: from my favorite Dr. Seuss book, Happy Birthday to You!, a daily reminder.

Saturday 16 May // day one hundred forty-six :: this was one of those days where I forgot to take a picture until right before I left for work.

Sunday 17 May // day one hundred forty-seven :: it was a foggy weekend.

Monday 18 May // day one hundred forty-eight :: this is the car I usually park next to when I go to the library. I'm sure that sounds creepy, but I don't mean it to, I just love parking next to other Beetles.

Tuesday 19 May // day one hundred forty-nine :: I love this line from The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E. Lockhart: "Secrets are more powerful when people know you've got them."

Wednesday 20 May // day one hundred fifty :: a living room scene. I truly love having an empty room, though people think it's weird that I don't have any furniture in there.

The orchards are starting to bloom! I'm going to try to check on them again the next few weeks to get them in full bloom like I did two years ago {post here}. I'm still not sure if they're apple trees or cherry trees though!

around the web 15.5.2015

It was rainy and cooler here this week, but I was still able to go out and find a few blossoms on Wednesday. I can't wait to share the rest of the pictures soon! Here are some things from around the internet this week.

starting this week, since it seems that I always have so many things from ModCloth that I want to share, I decided to just have them in a separate category. I love checking out what fun new things they're offering every day!

I have been burning this candle lately, and I love it! not only does it smell really good, but it's pretty bright as well.

I love this beautiful set of temporary tattoos from Tattly.

I am a huge fan of Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, and the Osbournes, so I was super excited when Sharon Osbourne was on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Monday! {here's a clip}

some wonderful, powerful words from my lovely friend Sugar.

waiting for the postman to bring me this tulle skirt! I'm also kind of wanting this chiffon skirt (technically skort) in navy.

Florence + the Machine KILLED it on SNL this past week. {What Kind of Man // Ship to Wreck} I've only heard that one song that was popular a few years ago {Dog Days Are Over}, but I want to listen to more now.

ModCloth picks of the week

I am just in love with tulle skirts, and this navy one is no exception. I need this golden unicorn necklace. I would totally buy this pretty tank top if I wore tank tops more often. I am loving this skeletal tee (which I bought [and there is a similar dress])! This rose gold key necklace is so pretty, and I love these gold heart earrings.

Fun kitchen items always make me smile, like these tea towels and these tree-trunk measuring cups.

If I was organized enough to use a travel journal, this one would be it.

I need this skull planter and a plant to put in it.

19/52 2015

The weather really cooled down this week! It was kind of sad because I was loving the 60s that we had. I had a really busy week with both jobs, but I was able to go out and check on the blossoming orchards on Monday. Those photos will be in another post next week though. My niece was born on Monday evening. (:

Thursday 7 May // day one hundred thirty-seven :: I love getting outside for some fresh air and a walk, but I really need to do it more often.

Friday 8 May // day one hundred thirty-eight :: my NatureBox arrived the day before! {May 2015 NatureBox post here}

Saturday 9 May // day one hundred thirty-nine :: I ordered some prints from Social Print Studio, and I wanted to make sure to at least get the dates written on the back. some of them also have a little story about what I remember from the moment taking the photo.

Sunday 10 May // day one hundred forty :: I don't often take pictures of what I am wearing, but I was about to leave for work when I realized that I didn't take a picture for the day yet! I thought that it was interesting that I last took a picture like this eight days ago, when I was wearing the same boots, because not only do I not often take these pictures, but I don't often wear these boots!

Monday 11 May // day one hundred forty-one :: raining, pouring. of course the sun was out by the time I left the Y around six.

Tuesday 12 May // day one hundred forty-two :: lesson planning for Sunday.

Wednesday 13 May // day one hundred forty-three :: I had to pick up a few things at Target, and on my way in, I ran into my friend who works at Starbucks. She said that she was on her break and that I should come visit her in about fifteen minutes, so before I left the store, I ended up getting a delicious s'mores frapuccino. It was definitely a treat because I rarely go to any coffeeshop!
