19/52 2015

The weather really cooled down this week! It was kind of sad because I was loving the 60s that we had. I had a really busy week with both jobs, but I was able to go out and check on the blossoming orchards on Monday. Those photos will be in another post next week though. My niece was born on Monday evening. (:

Thursday 7 May // day one hundred thirty-seven :: I love getting outside for some fresh air and a walk, but I really need to do it more often.

Friday 8 May // day one hundred thirty-eight :: my NatureBox arrived the day before! {May 2015 NatureBox post here}

Saturday 9 May // day one hundred thirty-nine :: I ordered some prints from Social Print Studio, and I wanted to make sure to at least get the dates written on the back. some of them also have a little story about what I remember from the moment taking the photo.

Sunday 10 May // day one hundred forty :: I don't often take pictures of what I am wearing, but I was about to leave for work when I realized that I didn't take a picture for the day yet! I thought that it was interesting that I last took a picture like this eight days ago, when I was wearing the same boots, because not only do I not often take these pictures, but I don't often wear these boots!

Monday 11 May // day one hundred forty-one :: raining, pouring. of course the sun was out by the time I left the Y around six.

Tuesday 12 May // day one hundred forty-two :: lesson planning for Sunday.

Wednesday 13 May // day one hundred forty-three :: I had to pick up a few things at Target, and on my way in, I ran into my friend who works at Starbucks. She said that she was on her break and that I should come visit her in about fifteen minutes, so before I left the store, I ended up getting a delicious s'mores frapuccino. It was definitely a treat because I rarely go to any coffeeshop!

The Month by iPhone :: December 2014

ah, December. it was a wonderful end to this crazy year. for the most part, it was pretty snowless, which was weird! here are some little moments from the month.

getting excited to use my 2015 May Books planner!

homemade hot chocolate in a pretty teacup! (: {that apple maple bourbon candle in the background smells amazing}

full fuel.

first time lighting a candle at home.

cleaning and loving the colors.

I love this ET ornament on my aunt and uncle's Christmas tree. it's made of felt, and I think she said that her grandma or great aunt made it in the 1980s! it's in such perfect shape.

I found it funny that the least popular flavor of tea at the motel is Sweet Dreams. all of the other slots have at least three different flavors, but we have so many of the Sweet Dreams, which is a chamomile mint.

funny finds at church.

if I knew where to hang it, I would so adopt this dog. {Walter's Dogs by Walter Salas-Humara}

leopard-like rust.

outfit to go to a concert. I wish I could dress like this every day.

{Merona sweater (Target), Forever 21 velvet pencil skirt, Simply Vera Vera Wang tights (Kohls), Rampage heels}

simply wonderful evening getting to see a solo acoustic concert {pat mAcdonald}

cleaning again and again loving colors.

I tend to park next to this other Beetle when I go to the library.

chai snickerdoodles {recipe from Sally's Baking Addiction}

my favorite part of working with the preschoolers is picking out the books to read. I am loving every Oliver Jeffers book. his illustrations are incredible, and the stories are great too.

awoken from a Christmas Eve slumber

34/52 2014

the end of summer is just flying by. I can't say I'm too mad, because fall is beautiful and will hopefully be a little less chaotic!

Wednesday 20 August // day two hundred thirty-two :: planning Sunday's lesson

Thursday 21 August // day two hundred thirty-three :: where I'd rather be

Friday 22 August // day two hundred thirty-four :: the only flowers left in my apartment. love these paper ones.

Saturday 23 August // day two hundred thirty-five :: my nails remind me of raspberry sherbet! they're OPI's My Address is Hollywood.

Sunday 24 August // day two hundred thirty-six :: new arrangement. for now. (;

Monday 25 August // day two hundred thirty-seven :: a rushed picture between jobs.

Tuesday 26 August // day two hundred thirty-eight :: eating an apple when "je mange une pomme" came up. except I conjugated it wrong. whoops.

Minneapolis Day One

2 March 2014

This Sunday started out like any other; I woke up around 7:30 and took a shower and got dressed, and then I went downstairs and had breakfast while I went through my emails and social media and did some writing. I went to church a little bit early so that I could set up for my lesson for Children's Liturgy of the Word. Today's Gospel was about worrying, and the suggested lesson involved bubbles, so I used that.

After church, I went home and finished up some packing before I had lunch. I had just a few last minute things to pack while I got ready to leave after lunch. I hit the road at about quarter after noon.

I stopped in Green Bay to refuel Luna, and then we continued west on 29 and then 94. It was a pretty boring drive. There was lots of snow and wintery trees to look at, in addition to a couple cool buildings on the way. I had to stop again in Menomonie to refuel again, and while I was there, I also stopped at an Arby's. I quit my job there four years ago after working there for about two and a half years. I still love their shakes, even though I very rarely go there. I stopped in and had a roast beef sandwich and a mint chocolate swirl shake. It was just as delicious as I remembered.

I continued driving, and I made it over the Mississippi. My mom told me to stop at the tourism centers on the way to Minneapolis and on the way back so that I could get a state map for both Minnesota and Wisconsin. I missed the exit this time because the sun was dipping down and getting in my eyes.

I made it into Minneapolis as the sun was starting to set while Geri X's Train Hopping Hobo Song was playing. I took that to be a good sign.

I had to drive around the block of the hotel (W Minneapolis - The Foshay) three times to figure out where to park. haha.

{I'm not used to seeing such tall buildings! I think they're really pretty. I rented a 10-24 mm lens to take with me, and I love shooting in such a wide angle!}

I made it to the front desk to check in, and since I'm under 21, they had to send security up to my room to remove the alcohol. Then, when I got in the elevator, I didn't realize that you had to put your key card in to go upstairs. Thank you to the kind employee who helped me out with that!

W really likes the color purple.

I love the scent of these lemon sage bliss products.

I opened the door to the shower, thinking that it was just an extra-large shower, but no, there's an extra-large shower and a bathtub.

The view from the bathroom is incredible. I'm sure it's the same view from the main room, but the curtains were drawn in the main room when I arrived, so I didn't notice the incredible sunset stripes until I walked into the bathroom.

More lemon sage.

I thought it was so funny that they took the bottles of alcohol out, but they left the jar of olives and the martini shaker.

King size beds make me feel so tiny.

xoxo.
