52/52 :: 2015

here we go, the end of the year! I'm not quite sure yet if I'm still going to be doing this 365 project next year. I would like to, but then sometimes I feel like it's too much to remember to take the pictures and edit them and post them. I don't know. That makes me sound lazy.

I want to say that it was because of the move that it took me a few days to get these last few pictures edited and posted, but really that's only about half of it. the other half is that I had way too much fun with my friends on the 30th and 31st. (:

Thursday 24 December // day three hundred fifty-eight :: snowless Christmas. (on the way to my grandparents' house to celebrate)

Friday 25 December // day three hundred fifty-nine :: every year, my aunt makes approximately a dozen different cookies and sweets for Christmas. she brings a tray to our celebration for everyone to eat there, and then every family gets their own box. but my box is my own box because I am unattached. (: the peppermint ones are my favorite.

Saturday 26 December // day three hundred sixty :: it's weirdly difficult for me to get rid of this little reindeer.

Sunday 27 December // day three hundred sixty-one :: it's so strange to see my things disappear from this apartment as they move to the new place.

Monday 28 December // day three hundred sixty-two :: a very important and fragile box.

Tuesday 29 December // day three hundred sixty-three :: we got our first real snow on Monday night. it was really windy, so it was mostly just drifts.

well, 2015, we have hit the home stretch. only eight short days until 2016. crazy, so crazy. this week was yet another whirlwind. I've started moving things into the new apartment, but before that there was baking for my Sunday kids and of course working both of the jobs, with last classes of the year at the Y. I guess I thought that I hadn't really accumulated a lot more stuff in the past year and a half... now it's a matter of going through things to decide what to keep, what to throw away, what to give away, and what to list on eBay.

Thursday 17 December // day three hundred fifty-one :: the night before, my aunt and I made organic body scrub and organic whipped body butter!

Friday 18 December // day three hundred fifty-two :: deconstructed salad of sorts.

Saturday 19 December // day three hundred fifty-three :: baking mint chocolate chip cookies for my Sunday kids! I use Betty Crocker's recipe. (:

Sunday 20 December // day three hundred fifty-four :: getting things ready to bring to church.

Monday 21 December // day three hundred fifty-five :: painted ladies.

Tuesday 22 December // day three hundred fifty-six :: out with the old, in with the new. I know that they say to wear your Converse until they fall apart, but there are tears in the old ones and they just feel less comfortable now, plus I've always hated that double tongue.

Wednesday 23 December // day three hundred fifty-seven :: the current state of my living room. things to donate, Christmas presents, groceries, and a box... I just want to be moved into the other place now so that I don't have to deal with any of this!

how is it possible that every week towards the end of the year seems crazier than the week before? it was a really dreary week weather-wise, with warmer temperatures that brought rain. so strange.

Sunday 13 December // day three hundred forty-seven :: gold stars are something I cherish and they're really a big deal in my life, as they symbolize my #songfamily. this one got stuck to me during Children's Liturgy of the Word and stayed there all day. <3

Tuesday 15 December // day three hundred forty-nine :: planning Sunday's lesson for Children's Liturgy of the Word + gift from one of the moms in gymnastics + giant mess on dining room table = real life.

wow, what a week. Thanksgiving with the family was slightly more laidback than usual, and it was a nice time. I won Candy Land and my sister shared with the family that she and her husband are expecting their second baby. on Friday, I got to spend some time with some of the #songfamily, and then it was a quiet weekend. I heard some exciting news on Monday about a great apartment becoming available, and by Wednesday I knew that I would be moving there at the end of the month. it's pretty crazy that situations can change as fast as they sometimes do!

Thursday 26 November // day three hundred thirty :: Things to bring to Thanksgiving dinner (Taylor's Christmas outfit, cookies, brownies) and a stack of library check-outs.

Friday 27 November // day three hundred thirty-one :: Every time I take a picture of the snow, it melts.

Saturday 28 November // day three hundred thirty-two :: Friday night involved spending some time with a few members of the #songfamily. Earlier in the day, I had seen Wade and he was doing two nice things for someone else, and after he left, I realized that I should have given him stars! I ended up getting to see him later in the night, so I told him that he needed two stars. He said he only deserved one of the stars, so I let him pick one and he chose blue. He ended up putting that star on my nose, which I was not happy about, so I put the gold one on his nose, but he later moved that one to my forehead. I did manage to get a platinum one onto his jacket pocket. Aaaaaand I totally just noticed that I need to wash my tablecloth.

Sunday 29 November // day three hundred thirty-three :: I got to see Barrett on Friday, and we ended up having a conversation where he convinced me to get my guitar back out and play it for five minutes every day. I haven't gotten to the playing part quite yet, but it's out of hiding at least.

(29 and 333 are both important numbers to me, so it's very wonderful that they fell together on the same day.)

Monday 30 November // day three hundred thirty-four :: I drove to Baileys Harbor for the sole purpose of going to Bearded Heart Coffee. I drove around a little bit to take pictures as well. This is Meadow Lane.

we're closing in on the last month of the year. how is that even possible? this year was an interesting rollercoaster, but I guess there are still five more weeks to get through to find out what else is going to happen. I still have Christmas shopping to do, a vacation to plan for early next year... my head is spinning just thinking of all of these things to mark off of the invisible to do list.

anyway! happy Thanksgiving! tell someone you love them.

Thursday 19 November // day three hundred twenty-three :: grey skies. it was a pretty dreary day, if I remember correctly.

Friday 20 November // day three hundred twenty-four :: pretty sure that this Oliver Jeffers illustration from The Heart and the Bottle will be my next tattoo.

Saturday 21 November // day three hundred twenty-five :: a stack of preschool books, which has since grown but there are also three or four less. (that makes no sense, Teresa.)

Sunday 22 November // day three hundred twenty-six :: yesterday's mail for some upcoming short trips.

Monday 23 November // day three hundred twenty-seven :: the first dusting of the snow of the season. it was gone a couple hours later.

I went out on Tuesday night, and I owed Morgan some stars because she did a bunch of work for me (cleaning the toaster, the sink, and the counter along with washing the dishes). she then proceeded to share them with all of us who came out to meet her.
