Snow. Snow? It's barely Thanksgiving and we have snow! The snow that we got on Wednesday (first picture) was pretty much melted a few days later, but now we have a few more inches. I don't particularly like having a white Thanksgiving.
Wednesday 19 November // day three hundred twenty-three :: snowfall.
Thursday 20 November // day three hundred twenty-four :: Macintosh apple + Yoplait caramel Greek yogurt + Simply Balanced vanilla bean granola
Friday 21 November // day three hundred twenty-five :: sunlight.
Saturday 22 November // day three hundred twenty-six :: the pictures were ordered and arrived, but now need to be put away to be displayed.
Sunday 23 November // day three hundred twenty-seven :: Sunday nights are for grocery shopping.
Monday 24 November // day three hundred twenty-eight :: added a mirror, a canvas, and a frame to my bedroom wall, but now I need more Command strips to hang the other frames and try to make it look like they go together.
Tuesday 25 November // day three hundred twenty-nine :: laundry day; flat to dry.

A Volkswagen PSA
the problem-causing picture
I had a field trip for work last week that involved my driving up to Fish Creek to pick up a pie at a closed pie shop. (They were expecting me.) I knocked on the door and picked up the pie and all was good. I had brought my camera up north with me, because I figured that I would wish I had it if I didn't bring it with me, and it wasn't like I was going to wish that I didn't bring it with me if I did bring it.
I went back outside with the pie and my camera in the same arm as my purse. Wait, let me word that better. I had my purse at my elbow on my left arm, with the pie box balanced on that arm, and my camera in my hand. (The guy I got the pie from suggested that I put the camera around my neck.) I got back out to my car and opened the passenger door, setting the pie on the passenger seat and putting my purse on the floor in front of it. I closed the door and went to take a picture of the sign, since when I tried to take a picture of the sign when I got there, my camera was being weird and beeping, which it turns out happened because it was set to self timer.
I take the picture, and I hear my car beep, meaning that the doors locked. I realized that I didn't have my keys, as they were in my purse, and I freaked out. I went and tried to open the doors, but they were obviously locked.
Thankfully, I had my phone in my pocket, and I was able to reach my dad, who called a locksmith for me. I was so embarrassed because I know (I wrote about it here) that my car will lock automatically after a short period of time if the driver side door isn't opened or the car isn't turned on.
It was 25 degrees out, and thankfully I was wearing a hat and gloves, as I ended up walking around the parking lot for half an hour while waiting for the locksmith. My feet were giant ice cubes though, since I was wearing Converse.
My car got unlocked, and fifty dollars later, this has solidified the lesson that I always need to have my car keys with me if my car doors are closed.

wishing
a Christmas wishlist of sorts...
more frivolous wishes on Pinterest.
xoxo.
these are going to be on sale for Black Friday for $20 (half off). I might have to swing by there on my way home from Thanksgiving, because I've wanted one for a while.
they sell these by the pair in store. I really want the gnome ones!
I for sure don't need any more totes... but it's EAP!
Peacock This Way Socks // Get a Head Start Socks (ModCloth)
I just really love fun socks.
I like pretty books.
I may not want my own dog, but I do love Bostons & Frenchies!
I've rented this lens (so I've used it before), and I really like it. I would also like to get a "more professional" camera body.
I don't really need a new iPod, but the one that I have (which is three years old) doesn't always respond when I press the home button, no matter what I am doing. I like to scroll through Pinterest or read BuzzFeed on my iPod before falling asleep. it's totally unnecessary, I know.
I really want to try their ice cream, and I love chocolate mint everything!

46/52 2014
sometimes it just feels like I just keep moving and don't stop to take a look around. I think that's what I need to work on for this next week.
Wednesday 12 November // day three hundred sixteen :: I liked my blue peacock feather infinity scarf so much that I bought the purple one too. (: [orange here] {and of course they're on sale now...}
Thursday 13 November // day three hundred seventeen :: when I want something sweet, I often whip up a batch of Number 2 Pencil's Perfect Single Serving Size Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Friday 14 November // day three hundred eighteen :: canvases!!! (:
Saturday 15 November // day three hundred nineteen :: I didn't realize that making mashed potatoes used so many arm muscles! I made them like at Texas Roadhouse, so they have peels and aren't perfectly smooth. I froze them (and they thawed a little weird) and then I baked them.
Sunday 16 November // day three hundred twenty :: currently reading: Shopaholic to the Stars & Women in Clothes. I started reading the Shopaholic series when I was 12, so I am always very happy to see a new one! Women in Clothes is a really great read as well. It's really long, but it's all different little stories and interviews, so it's going pretty fast.
Monday 17 November // day three hundred twenty-one :: I've always enjoyed reading Door County Living, and I would flip through Door County Magazine when we had copies at work. Door County Living has always (as far as I know) been a free publication that you can pick up at many places in the area, and now the same is true for Door County Magazine! This is the Best of 2014 issue, and I was happy to see that some of my favorite places won!
Tuesday 18 November // day three hundred twenty-two :: this picture doesn't really show it too much, but the light was just streaming into my bedroom.

NatureBox :: November 2014
My NatureBox has been arriving earlier in the month these past few months. I can't say I'm too disappointed about that. (: I just love getting these boxes in the mail and testing the new snacks that I picked out! It gets harder for me to pick something new every month, because it doesn't seem like they get that many new snacks each month. They do have some new Greek yogurt pretzels {blueberry, strawberry, and regular} that I will have to try next month.
{Here is your reminder that I am not a food photographer. Most of these pictures were taken at 9:30 pm in my dining room with artificial light.}
Parmesan Garlic Pop Pops :: I don't really eat a lot of garlic very often because the flavor can just be so overpowering. I loved the sea salt pop pops, so I decided that I would try these. They have a nice touch of Parmesan as well, but I find that there is a little too much garlic for me.
Harvest Rice Sticks :: These are pretty bland, and therefore, I don't really have anything to say about them. I'm glad that they don't have sesame seeds!
Tart Apple Mango Crispy Chews :: I'm not really a big fan of mango, so I didn't really think that I would like these too much. I actually taste more passionfruit than mango in these, and I can't taste the apple at all. I love the crisped rice for a nice texture.
Cherry Pecan Granola :: Oh, how I love granola. My favorite thing to do is to add it to some Greek yogurt to have with an apple, but I didn't have any when I took this picture. Those dried cherries are perfection.
Peanut Butter Nom Noms :: I'm pretty weird about peanut butter. I buy the natural kind, and the regular stuff just kind of weirds me out. I don't really know why. I also don't really like the combination of peanut butter and chocolate (especially Reeses - sorry!). These are really good, with all of the oats and the slight touch of chocolate. There is a touch of cinnamon in there which is a really nice note. These normally come five to a package, but there were six in mine! That was pretty exciting. (:

45/52 2014
a few pictures from this week. it's been pretty precipitous (I wasn't sure that that was even a word!) and kind of dark...
Wednesday 5 November // day three hundred nine :: cooking view.
Thursday 6 November // day three hundred ten :: it was too dark to take the picture that I wanted to take, so this happened when I saw where I had set my camera down. I really need to do some dusting!
Friday 7 November // day three hundred eleven :: the picture that I was hoping to take the day before. I finally colored and hung up my Edgar Allan Poe quote. {print here}
Saturday 8 November // day three hundred twelve :: an accurate portrait of me from one of the musicians.
Sunday 9 November // day three hundred thirteen :: my World Market order arrived the day before!! I love that everything has a sticker with the initials of the person who packaged it; it makes it seem more personal. {scarf. lotion. I also got magnets, but they are sold out.}
Monday 10 November // day three hundred fourteen :: in case anyone needed a reminder, I'm not a good cook and I am a worse food photographer. but, alas, this is my only photo from that day.
Tuesday 11 November // day three hundred fifteen :: not five minutes later, the entire balcony was covered in a white dusting. hopefully it doesn't stick.

October's Forgotten
some October moments.
These first few pictures above are from the first, when I visited the Wisconsin Motorcycle Memorial. They have some tables and things that are made out of motorcycles, which was pretty cool. It was such a beautiful day with the perfectly clouded blue sky, and I was actually looking for a corn field when I stopped here.
foggy day on Lake Michigan in Algoma.
Bayshore Drive.
a tiny bit of color in my all black outfit.
Portage Park.
the end.

44/52 2014
oh, what a week. it was so wonderful to have some of my dear friends here, and I now miss them so much. it's funny how having them here for such a short period of time becomes so normal, and then once they leave, it's devastating. I just need to focus on all of the fun and the love, and it will be okay.
Wednesday 29 October // day three hundred two :: if you've been around here for a while, you may remember my friend Delaney. a few of us found this squirrel, and we were quite fascinated by the fact that he was just sitting on the windowsill. apparently he was scared because he didn't know where his mom was.
Thursday 30 October // day three hundred three :: a little violin with Julia before dinner.
Friday 31 October // day three hundred four :: Ruby brought everyone some paper straws for Halloween.
Saturday 1 November // day three hundred five :: not the greatest picture since it was taken on auto, but this is the perfect reminder from our second line parade.
Sunday 2 November // day three hundred six :: pumpkins outside the apartment. when I returned home from work, they were all spread out by the doorway.
Monday 3 October // day three hundred seven :: finally changed the calendar.
Tuesday 4 October // day three hundred eight :: newest books. {104 Things to Photograph // Hyperactivitypography from A to Z // Women in Clothes}
xoxo.
