The Month by iPhone :: April 2014

April certainly flew by! I spent the month of April (and half of March) living in my childhood home by myself with half of the furniture gone, and it was definitely a weird experience. I was pretty crazy busy running around working at the motel and teaching a lot of extra classes at the Y. I feel like I'm at a point in my life where things are just going by so fast because I don't have a lot of time to just sit still and experience what's going on. It's going to be a crazy summer... I hope I'm ready.

Here are some snapshots from this month...

eight o'clock on Third Avenue.

one of our guests who stayed with us for a week brought us two bouquets of bright flowers. I put them all in one vase...

...but one of our owners helped me separate them into three smaller bouquets.

visiting Max, who was reading the September issue.

clouds. I love puffy white clouds and bright blue skies.

vintage tambourines!

my blender decided to be annoying, so I had my smoothie with a spoon.

artwork from my hairstylist's daughter. it's a purple sun (:

Palm Sunday

I often park under this tree at work. it's weird that it doesn't have leaves yet, since it's April and spring, but we did end up getting more snow.

my supervisor at the Y received flowers for her birthday! they make her office/child care smell amazing!

tomato soup is best served with freshly shredded cheddar cheese and Annie's bunny crackers (:

I made brownies for Easter! they're from this recipe. the first time I made them, I did red ones, and I did a batch of blue once, but they're good even when they're not colored! (:

color-coordinated dishwashing - totally unintentional

Easter at my grandparents' house

favorite flowers.

Luna had to get her snow tires taken off, and I had some errands to run, so I borrowed a car. It was my first time driving a Honda {that I know of}. It was an Element, so it had really big windows like in the Beetle! Also, it was raining and my dad brought me a chai tea latte.

lobby flowers. we have received a lot of {bright} flowers from guests lately.

lone guitar.

xoxo.
